We were finally given permission to book our flights! We leave for China on August 20th. We managed to get a flight with only one layover in Los Angelas. We will leave China on September 8 and arrive in Fort Lauderdale at 5AM on September 9th, Bliss' First Birthday! Our flight from Los Angelas leaves at 11:50PM (LA time), that's 2:50AM to us! It will definitely be an adventure with the kids! I'm sure that they will be fine. They travel very well and have always amazed us on long trips. This will be the marathon of long trips. I've been talking to them everyday about how LONG we will be on the Airplane and trying to prepare them for sleeping on the plane.
